Sox Salvage One

Needed this one. Classic AL 3.5 hour marathon. Admittedly the BJs have played the Sox tough this year (OK, they have DOMinated the Sox this year), but the BJs remind me of Sox teams of yore that can hit the ball a county mile, but they can't outhit their mediocre pitching staff. I think the jury is still out on the BJs until they show me some more pitching.

That said, the Sox also have pitching issues. The Sox have a GREAT defense, but if the opposing team simply hits home runs, there ain't much a good defense can do. I need to see Becks step up.

I did think it was great strategy to let Vernon Wells hit so many HRs that he actually injured his should hitting the ball so hard.

On to Detroit, where the mighty Tigers have turned to the Tiggers for the E2. Let's hope they stay pussycats for the Sox.

Fasten your seatbelts, this is gonna be a bumpy roadtrip.

Is tonight the night?

Manny and Poppi have the Bankees riled up (at least their fans). The talk in NYC is that Manny should pay for stylin' last night. Maybe, but I don't get the argument that Poppi should get dropped because he kills the Yankees at the plate.

Could be an interesting night at Fenway. Usually is.

Sox Take Two from Arch-Rivals(?)

OK, I officially HEY-YATE interleague play. I am done with it. Especially the thrill of seeing the pitcher bat (OK, Becks is an exception).

Finally, Back to the Bay State for Round 3.

DominO

Sox take 13th straight from O's, but Schill hurt by long ball again.

Dude, when Brandon Fahey takes you yard, there is something wrong. This guy looks like he's a freshman in high school. He's listed as 6-2, 160.

Start Spreading the News

Wow, always nice when Liza sings after a game in NYC, but this one was crazy. This one had more twists and turns than my lower intestine. Starts off with Schill going to the hospital for a "non-baseball" issue, has Godzilla breaking his wrist, Sox leaving about 50 runners on base, while the Yankees are jumping into the seats to pull home runs back. Just when it seems that Wake is going for another hard luck loss, the Bankees lose all focus (or something) and the Sox grab the lead. And given the chance, the back of the bullpen wraps up things up nice and pretty.

Oh, by the way, Bronson, now 5-1 with a 2.03 ERA.

Yanks Manage Only a Field Goal as Sox Roll 14-3

Uh, Yankee Fan, just because RSN booed Damon, doesn't mean you should boo Randy.

O "C" Can You Say "Way Back"

The Captain (My Captain) goes yard, as Sox slam and sweep O's. Was it just last year that we couldn't beat this team. Couldn't happen to a nicer owner.

Lowell - Massachusetts

We like Mike. What other recent Red Sox acquisition is performing above expectations?
